Capturing real-time teaching and learning unobtrusively

This research group creates Environments and Experiences for Undertaking Research in Engineering Education Knowledge Assessment so that we can find the E2URE2KA moments. We aim to discover and develop strategies to help teachers and students feel confident, teachers practice great pedagogy, and identify and measure engineering and design thinking with more seamless, unobtrusive methods.

Our research foci include:

  • creative, unobtrusive assessment
  • engineering education in K-12 formal and informal settings
  • teacher professional development
  • innovative data collection tool and research methods development

Current projects include:

  • Validation and expansion of the K-12 Engineering Epistemic Frame (EEFK12)
  • Efficient interview tool for kids and parents
  • Peer assessment mobile application for use in classrooms
